MOE Assistance Scheme
Singaporean students from low-income families may qualify for the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme. Apply at the General Office to receive subsidies for school fees, books, attire, transport, and meals.
The MOE FAS is to help financially needy Singaporean students in Government and Government-aided schools for school fees and other expenses.
Subsidies are given to needy students in the form of:
Full subsidy of school fees of $5.00 per month
Full subsidy of standard miscellaneous fees of $10.00 per month
Free textbooks
Free school attire
$17 transport subsidy* per month from the month of approval, up to a total of $204 transport subsidy per annum, for students taking public transport
$3.50 per school meal# for 10 meals per 5-day school week from the month of approval, for up to 40 school weeks per annum
*If the FAS application approval is not from January, the transport subsidy will be pro-rated accordingly from the month after your application is approved to December of the same year.

Criteria for Eligibility
Students who are Singapore Citizens
Students with family income as follows:
a. Gross Monthly Household Income not exceeding $3,000 per month OR
b. Per Capita Income not exceeding $750 per month*
* Per Capita Income is computed by dividing the Total Gross Monthly Household Income by the number of members in the same household.
