National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
VISION
Canberra National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) Unit strives to develop our members to be active citizens and community leaders by working in partnership with the Singapore Police Force to fight crime and keep Singapore safe. Our unit is committed to NPCC's vision to become the best youth organisation in Singapore, one that actively helps to make Singapore the safest place in the world.
KEY PROGRAMMES:
At Canberra Secondary School, our NPCC unit emphasises the development of skills and values through a range of experiential learning opportunities:
● Adventure Training Camp: Fosters teamwork and resilience, encouraging cadets to step outside their comfort zones.

● Campcraft: Cadets learn essential survival skills including shelter building, fire starting, and knots and lashings

● Drills: As with any Uniform Group, cadets learn drills to instill discipline and build teamwork.

● Police Youth Ambassador Values-in-Action (VIA): Cadets partner with local law enforcement to raise crime prevention awareness and contribute to the community.

● Community Safety and Security Programme: Cadets engage in advocacy projects within the school to communicate key crime prevention messages.
● Road Safety: Cadets learn essential skills in traffic management and public safety, highlighting the importance of vigilance in daily life.

● 0.22 Revolver Shooting Competition: Secondary 3 cadets have the opportunity to develop focus, discipline, and precision through competitive shooting.
● Cadet Leader Camp: Future cadet leaders attend a 2D1N camp to develop self-management skills, learn activity planning, and challenge themselves to become better leaders.
● Unit Activities: Cadets participate in unit hikes, educational learning journeys, and Sports Exposure Programmes (SEP) such as the 1-star Kayaking programme and Air Pistol Exposure to build confidence and resilience.
These diverse experiences help cultivate well-rounded individuals, instilling key values like integrity, responsibility, and respect. Our programmes empower cadets with the skills necessary to contribute positively to society and navigate the challenges of today's public safety and community engagement landscape.
